Day 22 17-Aug 24 - Albany to Norseman 685 Km

Neil and Dave began their day by visiting the ANZAC monuments in Albany, an essential stop on their Lap4Legacy motorbike journey. These monuments, dedicated to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, honour the sacrifices made during World War I. The intricate details and peaceful surroundings made for a poignant start to their day in Albany.

After departing from Albany, Neil and Dave continued their motorbike ride towards Esperance, passing through Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe, and Munglinup. Munglinup surprised them with its abundance of sights and activities, adding an unexpected highlight to their Lap4Legacy adventure.

Arriving in Esperance, Neil and Dave were captivated by the town's stunning location and welcoming people. They engaged in an informative conversation with Ryan, who provided insights into the commercial wharf and the critical exports from Esperance. Ryan also took a memorable photo of Neil and Dave at Castletown Beach, where they enjoyed breathtaking views of Cape Le Grand and the expansive ocean—a perfect backdrop for their motorbike journey.

Despite the allure of Esperance, Neil and Dave had to cut their visit short due to an approaching storm from the west. They swiftly rode 200 km north to Norseman, managing to arrive just an hour before the storm unleashed its power. The intense rain and lightning that followed made them grateful for their timely arrival.

In Norseman, they encountered Chris, another motorbike enthusiast riding his Africa Twin to Port Pirie. Despite the challenges he faced, Chris's spirit was undeterred, and his camaraderie warmed their hearts, emphasizing the warmth of human connection during travel.
